Light Up the Holidays

It’s almost Christmas and this month’s drive will help you kick off the season. We’re taking an afternoon drive starting from southwest of Austin and ending in Marble Falls. Once there, we’ll stop at a brewery for dinner and then it’s off to the Walkway of Lights for a stroll along the Colorado River surrounded by Christmas lights.

Note: This is an outdoor event. If there is rain in the forecast, the drive will still be held but viewing the lights after dinner will be up to each person.

The drive will start at the Exxon station at the intersection of SH-45 and RM-1826. Meeting time is 2 PM with a departure at 2:15 PM. (Get directions)

Our rest stop will be at the Stripes in Johnson City. We should arrive approximately 3:45 and will be there for 15-20 minutes. (Get directions)

I’m especially excited about the second half of the drive because we’ll be traveling some roads that I’d never been on before planning this drive. Dinner will be at Bear King Brewing Company in Marble Falls. (Get directions)

We should arrive at the restaurant around 5:30 PM. Sunset is at 5:31 and the Walkway of Lights opens at 6 PM. The entry fee is $2.00 per person. Please see the map for parking locations at the event. (Get directions)
