BBQ for Breakfast, BBQ for Lunch!
Planned by: Paul Goldfine
We’ll be starting this month’s drive from the Bill Miller Bar-B-Q in New Braunfels (get directions) where you can get some breakfast tacos to start your day off right. Following that, the route will take us up River Rd., to the West of Canyon Lake, and to our rest stop at the Stripes in Spring Branch.
Following a short break, we’ll head Northeast through Fischer, through the Jacob’s Well area, and up to Driftwood. From there, we’ll turn Westward and head to our lunch stop the Original Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood.
We’ll meet at 8:30 for an 9:00 departure and we should arrive at the Stripes shortly after 10:00. After a break, the second half of the drive will have us arriving at the restaurant around 11:30. If you’ve never been to the Salt Lick in Driftwood, which I haven’t, it’s been in operation since 1967 and can seat over 800 people. On a typical Saturday, they serve around 2,000 people. So come out, join us, and remember to bring your appetite.
